MVP is being awarded on this

Posted on: April 25, 2008 3:49 am

Ramon Sessions played out of his mind for the last week of the NBA regular season, combine that with the voters (journalists) tendancy to only remember what happened within the last week or so...abra kadara and here we are, Ramon Sessions, your 2007-08 MVP.

My point is how can Chris Paul lose the MVP over his last few games? That doesnt really make sense. While I believe Kobe is the MVP, if CP3 had the lead in the race how does 3 games lose it for you. What about the 78 other games he played in guys?

The voting system is stupid anyway, but if would be fine if they remembered the whole season instead of the last 4 games they played in.

I may have it in the wrong order but In the Australian NBL coach gets 3 points per vote, assistant coaches get 2 points per votes, captains get 1 point per vote. It's not a great system but its a hell of a lot better than the NBA system.

What do you guys think?? Does the MVP voting system need to be rectified or is it fine...and who is your MVP...?

MVP is being awarded on this

I think they should let coaches vote, or GMs or players but someone closer to each game. A combination of them maybe..

But my MVP is Kobe because he is in consideration all year while Chris Paul had a great 2nd half. Most of you, quite rightly so, will shoot me down for this, but seeing as he hasnt got an MVP award before I have to give it to Kobe. Without him the would still have a struggling Bynum, no Gasol because that wouldn't be their need and a team with very low chemistry and only Phil Jackson to turn it around.

That is just my low-analysis level opinion of things.

Keep it to this regular season. I will shoot you down for mentioning prior seasons, just as I'll shoot down others for mentioning the playoffs(it works in favor of both sides). I'd probably still vote Kobe, but I don't care if he hasn't won one before. If anything, we should just hate Steve Nash. Steve Nash may prevent Chris Paul from winning MVP. Steve Nash makes Louisianna children cry. Steve Nash breaks up households. I am Canadian, and I hate Steve Nash.

If I could give you 100's for this I would.

I think Kobe Bryant deserves it and will win too .. but I hate it when people point only to the last 3 games.  I wonder if he can play himself out of the award in three games .. how come we don't acknowledge that he played himself into the award for 77 games (he missed two).  That's just how I feel.

TDbeagle, You should have a chat with Big B...

Thanks Go...

I like the idea of having a coaches poll, players poll and GMs poll to work out MVP...I think that would work better than the current system...but Im sure the writers would not like to be excluded as, lets face it, in this modern world the media have the power don't they?
